For Anne by Leonard Cohen

I chose this picture for the poem For Anne by Leonard Cohen, because in the poem he loved a women who unfortunately passed. He loved her eyes and the way they glistened in the sun.

For Anne

With Annie gone,
whose eyes to compare
with the morning sun?

Not that I did compare,
But I do compare
Now that she's gone.

For Anne by Leonard Cohen Analysis
This Poem to me showed a side of Cohen that he would usually keep to himself. He showed us that he made an mistake. He knew this woman with these amazingly beautiful eyes, but never really told her about how he felt. She ended up passing and now he noticed the things he should have done with her when she was alive. This is a very short poem, but it speak so far and loud. It shows that life is to short to not let someone know about how you feel about that person.
